especially if you are in a parking lot, my experience.

This was my response last week to visitors from Oregon who had stopped to speak with me during their walk around Barrio Viejo.

They asked if pedestrians had the right-of-way, since someone was kind enough to stop and let them cross.

I seem to remember that one justification for not marking crosswalks along Broadway was that it gave the pedestrians a false confidence that drivers would yield.

Saw the same nonsense at Golf Links and Swan with the left turn arrow after green. Sat at the light waiting for turn when driver proceeded to turn into on-coming traffic. No way to tell if the other driver was slowing down for yellow or was texting or was the other side of driving here: that group who slows down thinking the light might change.

The traffic light has been changed but not before I missed seeing another crash by about 30 seconds.

Maybe all that praying to St. Patrick about enlightening Tucson’s traffic engineers.
